We believe in a

CIrcular design philoshopy and

ZERO production waste

at Verandah

At Verandah, sustainability and luxury go hand in hand. We are a proud zero waster company and employ a closed loop design system for almost all our textiles and work on a small batch production model. Our process involves personally designing and supervising our collections at our Mumbai Atelier and working with manufacturers who, like us, believe in bringing about resolute sustainable changes. We use our post production waste to design accessories, lifestyle items and our signature recycled denim pieces. Besides that we also use regenerated and biodegradable yarns from the best manufacturers in the world. We use Better Cotton Initiative and GOTS certified organic cotton to support farmers and fair trade practices.

Regenerated Textiles

Materials Matter

SWIMWEAR made from Regenerated Nylon and recycled polyamide

Our swimwear is made with Econyl® yarn and OEKOTEX 100 certified recycled polyamide from 100% Green energy powered textile Mill in Italy using 20% less energy and recycling 99% of their industrial waste entirely in Italy.

Econyl® is a regenerated nylon produced using waste fishing nets, fabric scraps and carpets. It is infinitely recyclable.

Our garmenting factory is also based locally in Italy to reduce our carbon footprint.

Fabrics designed from wood based cellulose fibres and Hemp

Most of our garments are designed using certified biodegradable plant based fabrics made from cellulose fibres using environmentally certified closed loop production processes. We have partnered with the Lenzing Group in Europe for excellence in sustainable fiber innovation.

We have introduced sustainable Hemp and Bamboo fabrications into our collections and weave fabrics especially for the brand via a local sustainably compliant textile spinning mill in Mumbai.

Vegan Silks made from Regenerated Cotton and GRS Certified Recycled Polyester

Our natural silks and satins use Bemberg™, a Japanese made regenerated cellulose yarn made from cotton linter that is a pre-consumer material obtained from manufacturing process of cottonseed oil in a closed loop process. It is completely biodegradable and compostable fiber, soft to touch and is our favourite substitute for traditional silk.

Our plisse fabrications are designed primarily using Global Recycled Standard polyester yarn thereby repurposing existing garments in the market to create the new garment.

Reducing our carbon footprint

We believe the world of conscious fashion is boundless and all of us must interpret it in our own meaningful ways. By adopting a zero- waste ideology, we are taking a step towards being carbon negative by 2030. Right from planting a tree for each garment sold by tying up with Sankalp Taru to adopting closed loop design practices we not only aspire to reimagine design and but opt for “conscious” practices for all our future endeavours. It is the beginning of a revolution and we’re glad to be a part of it.

One TREE planted for every purchase

For every purchase you make a tree is planted by the good folks at SankalpTaru in a forest regeneration project we have adopted in the Molai Forest Reserve in Assam in East India.
